Fernsehturm Stuttgart is the world’s first telecommunications tower dominating the Stuttgart’s skyline at 217 meters high since the 1950s. This decades-old tower served as a prototype for various towers across the world from Hong Kong and China to Johannesburg in South Africa. Though it was constructed as a transmission tower to use reinforced concrete, it quickly became one of the most-visited tourist spots in Stuttgart. Earlier it was controversial in its design and cost, it became a significant model for TV towers and is visited by millions of people every year.

Today, this tower broadcasts FM frequencies and has an added attraction of an observation deck and a restaurant where you can have a cup of coffee while relishing sweeping views of the city. The views from the observation deck cover forests and vineyards in and near the city to the Swabian Jura and the Black Forest.
