Amsterdam is not short on extraordinary museums and the Rembrandt House Museum is one of them. Located within walking distance from the Chinese Quarter and the Red Light District, this museum focuses on the life of the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt who actually lived and worked inside this house in the 17th century.

The museum features a permanent collection of the artist’s etchings and hosts regular exhibitions. While staying inside this house, Rembrandt produced some of his most famous works including the famous Night Watch that visitors can see at the nearby Rijksmuseum.

Pay a visit to the largest room where the artists painted some of his masterpieces and don’t forget to check out his collection of rarities from across the globe including spears, shells, and butterflies. The guided tour of the Rembrandt House Museum includes a hand-held audio guide and lasts for about an hour.
