The Museum of the History of Montpellier (from the 10th to the 16th century) or Crypte de Notre-Dame des Tables:

Situated underneath the present Place Jean Jaurès, in the base of the old church of Notre-Dame des Tables, this museum traces the history of Montpellier through the history of the church, using visual and sound animations. In the ambulatory, in the middle of the vestiges of the foundations of the church and its tower, is presented the history of Notre-Dame des Tables.

This church was the religious, political, economic and intellectual center of Montpellier in the Middle Ages, it will be destroyed during the Revolution in 1794. The lower chapel shows, besides a wall of the primitive church and an ossuary, the medieval history (985-1486) of the city.

In the Room of the Vaults, a video graphic installation weaves the link between history and the contemporary city, and at the same time are designated the burial vaults of the seventeenth century which give their name to the room.
