With its thousand drawings and five thousand prints, the Museum Atger, nestled in the heart of the Faculty of Medicine, is the oldest Museum in Montpellier from the Collector Xavier Atger (1758-1833), enlightened amateur but passionate in his work of art. There is coexists with small and great masters of French schools, Italian and Flemish. The French School is of course the most represented, with artists such as Fragonard, Philippe de Champaigne or Hubert Robert, but also the southern” ” Sébastien Bourdon, Charles Natoire or Raymond Lafage.

The Italian school, with 150 drawings, includes such big names like Carrache, Guercino or Donatello, and the venetian Giambattista Tiepolo.
