Celebrating the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943, an act of Jewish resistance in German-occupied Poland during World War III, the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes was designed by Leo Suzin.

The first part of the monument includes a small memorial tablet, a circular plaque with a palm leaf. The larger monument was sculpted by Nathan Rapoport and represents, in its western part, a group of insurgents – men, women, children, armed with guns and Molotov cocktails.
