La Tour Montparnasse

Place of Interest Open in this Schedule (possibly closed due Covid-19 restrictions) Check location

Offering a breathtaking view over Paris in only 38 seconds – the time it takes to get you by lift to the top of the building – the Tour Montparnasse was constructed from 1969 to 1973 and it was the tallest skyscraper in France until the completion of Tour First in 2011.

From its 200 meters above Paris, it’s possible to watch the Eiffel Tower right in front of you, but also the Louvre, Les Invalides, the Sacré-Coeur, the Notre-Dame cathedral, Montmartre and the Panthéon. There are touchscreens and virtual reality kiosks with information about these and other monuments. The tower was designed by architects Eugène Beaudouin, Urbain Cassan, and Louis Hoym de Marien and built by Campenon Bernard.

It has 59 floors, most of them occupied by offices. The terrace with the stunning panoramic view is open to the public and so is the restaurant on the 56th floor, Le Ciel de Paris.
