Starting from the Arc de Triomphe and leading to the Esplanade des Arceaux, La Promenade du Peyrou it is the highest point in Montpellier, it ends with a water tower designed by Daviler and Giral, which allowed the city to be supplied with water from the St. Clement source. The work began in 1688 and was completed in 1784.

It offers a breathtaking view over the rooftops of Montpellier and its surroundings (Pic Saint Loup). In the center of La promenade of Peyrou there is a very beautiful statue of Louis XIV installed there in 1718 after this destroyed during the Revolution and rebuilt identically under the Monarchy of July in 1838.
