The most famous and elegant boulevard of Berlin, the Kurfürstendamm is a paradise for shopping, especially at the legendary department store KaDeWe, opened in 1907 and still the largest one in Europe.

Considered the Champs-Élysées of Berlin, the avenue is lined with trees, but also hotels, restaurants, fashion designers stores, and several car manufacturers’ showrooms. The avenue runs for 3.5 km, from the Breitscheidplatz to the district of Grunewald, where it becomes more exclusive, with international luxury brands such as Chanel, Luis Vuitton, Cartier, and Yves Saint Laurent.

The medium-priced fashion chains, sports brands, and large shoe stores are located between KaDeWe and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, while there’s a lot more shopping to do at the nearby Europa-Center, which hosts another 70 shops and restaurants. The side streets, such as Fasanenstraße, Knesebeckstraße or Bleibtreustraße, where fancy boutiques can be found inside beautiful buildings, are also worth a visit.
