Located in the Old Town, the Grossmunster is a Romanesque church that dates back to the 12th century. It is one of the city’s most famous landmarks and attracts millions of tourists each and every year.

From the glass windows by Sigmar Polke and the neo-Gothic towers which were added in the 18th century to the Romanesque crypt and the bronze doors, there are plenty of interesting things to discover while visiting the Grossmunster.

For excellent views of the city, climb 187 stairs to the top of one of the two towers called Karlsturm. Guided tours of the church with audio guides in different languages are available daily.
