El Clandestino

Located in Príncipe Real, since its opening in 2015, El Clandestino is one of the most popular restaurants in Lisbon, specialized in tacos and ceviches. With a relaxed and fun atmosphere, the decor has Mexican influences, with a high right foot and lots of personality, by Maria Fernandes Thomaz. Inspired right at the entrance, the incredible sculpture “A Favela” by the brothers Bete and Gezo Marques is the brand image of the house, recreating the Vidigal favela through painted and illuminated wooden boxes.

The typically Mexican and Peruvian recipes make up a curious and appealing menu, between tacos, ceviches, quesadillas, salads and totopos (mini crunchy tortillas with three different sauces), with an average price per person of €18.

To represent Mexico are the tacos with beef tenderloin, spices and vegetables, pork with pineapple, onion and coriander or the chicken with tomato, chili pasilla and mango. From Peru, the ceviches appear with whitefish and sweet potato puree, with tuna and chives, and the scallop ceviches with mango, wakame seaweed and chard shoots. For a perfect ending, the desserts make up this trip of flavors, highlighting the Chocolate Bomb, the Cold Cream of Lima and Tequila and the Garden of churros.
