With an area of over 2.000 square meters, which includes exhibition halls, an auditorium for 322 people and multiple conference rooms, the CaixaForum is located in Paseo del Prado, nearby the main museums of Madrid: Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen. Outside the building designed by the Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, and built by Ferrovial between 2001 and 2007 from an old power station, there’s a remarkable vertical garden.

This cultural center, sponsored by Caixa Bank, has regular exhibitions of ancient to contemporary art, multimedia, social conferences and music and poetry festivals. Past exhibits included the art of storytelling by Disney and Toulouse-Lautrec and the spirit of Montmartre.
