Wits its artsy edge, diverse museums, and cobblestone streets dotted with medieval churches, Zurich is a laid-back destination where travelers come to enjoy chocolate, admire the medieval architecture, sample locally grown wines, and go swimming in the fabulous Lake Zurich. Many famous people found inspiration in the streets of Zurich.

For instance, James Joyce came here to write his masterpiece "Ulysses" and other notable figures like James Joyce, C. G. Jung, and Thomas Mann spend a significant amount of time in this fabulous city. When it comes to activities in Zurich, they are plentiful.

Adventures travelers can hike the Uetliberg Mountain, while foodies can sample local cuisine at the city’s world-class restaurants. The Old Town’s tall clock towers and gothic spires are also not be missed.

Lake Zurich

Many things make this cosmopolitan city in Switzerland special. Shopaholics can visit Bahnhofstrasse which is Zurich’s shopping mecca and houses some of the most expensive retail properties in all of Europe.

If you are a fan of art and design, you’ll be pleased to hear that Zurich is home to many amazing art galleries and museums including Museum für Gestaltung, Fraumünster, Andrea Hinnen, Migros Museum, and many others.

However, the thing that makes Zurich wonderful and unique is its beautiful Lake Zurich. Whether you wish to hire a pedal boat, rent a bike or go for a ride around the lake, or just lounge at one of the many surrounding parks and enjoy magnificent views of the lake, a visit to Lake Zurich promises to be a memorable experience.
